Griffith expresses concern over escalating violence following al-Anad attack

The Special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths on Thursday expressed concern over the "escalating violence that has taken place today in Yemen", following the Houthi attack on a military parade organized by government forces in  Al-Anad airbase in Lahj.

In tweets on Twitter, Griffiths urged the Yemeni government and al-Houthi group to "exercise restraint and refrain from further escalation."

The Special Envoy appealed to the parties to the conflict to work to create a climate conducive to maintaining the positive momentum generated by Sweden's consultations and the resumption of the Yemeni peace process.
